BACCHUS stands for Boosting Alcohol Consciousness Concerning the Health of University Students. The mission of BACCHUS Laurier is to promote responsible drinking, sexual responsibility, and to deal with social issues pertaining to the health and safety of Wilfrid Laurier University and its students. It is our goal to educate the WLU community through peer education and prevention techniques in a positive, proactive and enthusiastic manner. BACCHUS at Laurier is apart of BACCHUS Canada a national non-profit organization dedicated to alcohol education and other health issues in the post-secondary sector.
Patrolling events:
BACCHUS provides a great service to the Laurier community by ensuring the health and safety of our students at certain on and off campus night events through riding buses and patrolling the event. During the full year these events include IRC Formal, Charity Ball, and Winter Carnival. For each of these nights BACCHUS is in charge of line control for loading and unloading buses, being on each bus to make sure everyone is safe as well as patrolling the event looking out for student safety.
