While this committee works to raise the awareness of the community regarding environmental issues, its ultimate goal is to encourage the development of environmentally friendly living habits of students, and work towards limiting the campus’ ecological foot print.
Events:
1. Speakers and movies- The Ecohawks will be putting on environmentally educating movies twice a semester. We will also have guest speakers come in and explain different aspects of climate change and social responsibility.
2. Lug-a-Mug- During this event the Ecohawks put together games and other activities during which free travel mugs will be handed out. Students will participate in games and environmentally educating activities in order to win travel mugs.
3. Green store- For a week, right before the holidays the ecohawks will bring in a variety of green stores and some of their products to the concourse for students to purchase from and get inspired to purchase more environmentally responsible gifts during the holiday season.
4. Otesha project- An environmental group outside of campus that will come in and perform a skit that will promote social responsibility.
Other events that are organized through the external event executive will be those that promote ecological awareness by using resources outside of campus.
5. Parking day- Inspired by the International Parking Day, the Ecohawks will promote environmental awareness through having a parking day of their own, with people who will explain recycling and composting to students.
6. Out of the Bottle- A similar event to Lug-a Mug, students will have a chance to win a free EcoHawks water bottle.
